Shindong and Donghae aren’t very close?

After being around each other for more than six years, it would be a reasonable assumption that Donghae and Shindong of Super Junior would be close to each other. However, surprisingly, during Super Junior’s show “Super Junior Foresight”, Shindong revealed that he and Donghae were still rather awkward with each other.

As the MC, Shindong, to the surprise of many, confessed that while there aren’t really many arguments among him and a lot of the other members, there are at times somewhat strange atmospheres between them, and the awkwardness is more pronounced during the times where he and another member are alone together. He explained, however, that he has had the most experiences of strange atmospheres with Donghae.

Shindong’s rather shocking admittance caused people to question the group’s relationship with one another, as one of Super Junior’s pride is that all the members have joyfully resided together in their dorms for six years, with ties to each other stronger than some other idol groups. This sentiment created concerns of the relationships within the group and its potential implication of bad relationships was increased when it was revealed that Donghae and Shindong cannot only not stay alone in each others’ company for a short time, but also cannot simply dine together alone.

However, much to the relief of the fans, Shindong lightened up the atmosphere by brightly leaving a video message to Donghae, stating that “We must eat together once”, causing much laughter in the studio audience.

In addition to Shindong’s confession, the show segment also revealed Heechul and Eunhyuk as a “silent pair” similar to Shindong and Donghae. Because Heechul and Eunhyuk are so awkward with each other, they have only eaten just once together. Meal time for the two is basically simply eating without any talking. After speaking of the awkward dining scenario, they decided to re-enact it on the TV, which once again caused the audience to laugh at their antics.

Super Junior’s Heechul & Ki Bum are friends with San-E

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul revealed a picture of Kim Ki Bum, who has been absent from the music industry for a long time due to other activities.

On November 4th, Heechul wrote on his Twitter, “Together with Ki Bum and Sane-E~”, and uploaded a photo of Ki Bum posing with San-E in the dark.

Fans saw the picture and commented, “I haven’t seen him in so long, this is so nice to see”, “Please upload more pictures like this,” “Ki Bum’s facial expression is so cute in this! Is he drunk by any chance?”, “Their hats are even the same!”, “Please tell Ki Bum oppa that we miss him.”

How Many Members Are In Super Junior?

According to the KBS show, “100 Points out of 100“, Super Junior is now a group consisting of only eleven members.

On the episode of “100 Points out of 100” which aired on November 27, 2010, the MCs for the show, Park Kyung-rim and Park Myung-soo, stated that if a group has eleven members, it’s better for the members to not be a part of such a big group. This was said in response to members of idol bands stating that they must share all earnings seriously.

Fans of Super Junior are angry at the MCs for blurting out false statements. They still believe that Super Junior is a 13 member group even without Han-kyung and Ki-bum.

Super Junior Members Are Perceived As “Super Actor-dols”!

Super Junior has appeared as “Super Actor-dols*”. Following “Sorry Sorry”, “Miinah” and other songs which aren’t only receiving huge popularity in the country but also across Asia, and after producing a collection of big hits, Super Junior’s members Leeteuk, Eunhyuk and others are receiving attention as the next generation’s MCs in variety programs; (in addition) Shindong, Donghae, and Sungmin are also simultaneously involved in dramas, making a strong presence as “Super Actor-dols”.

It could be seen that among 13 members, there are seven of them who are building their careers in the drama scene. Shindong takes on the role of the Judo athlete Kang Wooram on SBS’s “Doctor Champ”, and has received a lot of attention from the viewers. Being a judo athlete during his elementary school days, he has shown his natural side in the drama, and is responsible for creating laughter in the show.

Donghae begins his acting career in SBS’s “It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl”. Playing the role of the honest and sincere Choi Wook-gi, has displayed commendable acting skills recently at his first recording, and was well-received by the staff. Donghae has added colours to the typical sincere character, and produced a distinctly different character. He is expected to show a splendid idol member’s image and display a completely different side of him.

In the KBS drama “President”, Sungmin will be playing the role of the trouble-making graduate student Jang Sungmin, the son of Choi Soojong and Ha Heera in the drama. He wishes to try his hand in politics himself, and although he has the intention to help his father out in the election process, but got into trouble instead when he used the wrong methods. There is high anticipation with regards to how he would act out the role of the president’s ambitious son. It can be seen that the Super Junior members have accumulated a lot of experiences in the drama field.

Before this, Choi Siwon has received high acclaim for playing the lead role of the SBS drama “Oh! My Lady”, which would be followed by his casting in SBS’s “Athena” as a new agent (of NSS), thus attracting attention as a rising young actor.

Aside from that, Kim Heechul has also received attention for his role in SBS’s “Golden Bride**” among others.

Kangin has played the role of a couple manager in MBC Dramanet’s “Romance Zero***”, and Kibum collected his popularity earlier through the KBS youth drama “Banolim”. With the addition of three members who will be building their experiences in the drama field, Super Junior has now 7 members out of 13 who have a drama-acting career.

One of the officials from their agency SM Entertainment said that “From the beginning, Super Junior debuted with the aim of not only singing songs, but also being involved in variety shows and the acting field” and that “since it’s their 5th anniversary since debut this year, it is a perfect occasion to take hold of a clear position, and receive more ‘love calls’ in various fields”.

* Actor-dols are a combination of the words ‘actor’ and ‘idol’. Meaning they’re idol actors.

** Golden Bride (황금신부/Hwang Geum Shin Bu) is a 64-episode drama which was aired between June 2007 and February 2008.

*** Romance Zero (하자 전담반 제로/Haja Jeondamban Zero) is a 16-episode drama that was aired between February – May 2009. The phrase ‘couple manager’ basically means matchmaker.

SHINee’s Taemin and f(x)’s Sulli are also confirmed dating ?

Big news broke out earlier today with the news of SHINee’s Jonghyun confirmed to be dating actress Shin Se Kyung. The news took Korea by storm with it making the front page of newspapers and Shin Se Kyung having to close her Cyworld homepage due to many hate messages.

The term “BREAKING NEWS: SHINee’s Taemin and f(x)’s Sulli are also confirmed to be dating” has been reblogged and retweeted so many times that it started an viral rumor that SHINee’s Taemin and f(x)’s Sulli are dating. The rumor have left many fans in disbelief with one fan saying, ‘Now Taemin and Sulli. If that happened I would jump off a bridge.’ Another fan tweeted, ‘I’ll be running down the street holding a knife if SULLI and TAEMIN are dating!!’.

Taemin and Sulli have worked together previously for a CF and have been closely linked in the past, but Taemin revealed last year that his ideal girl was Emma Watson.

On a side note, I do think this is just a viral joke, so before anyone confirms anything, let’s not bring out those butcher knives and rip your hearts out yet!
